Each year, the Surfaces & Interfaces Days (JSI) highlight the advances in surface and interface physics and chemistry. The scope of the JSI is very broad, ranging from surface and interface structure and morphology, to their electronic, electrical, magnetic, mechanical or optical properties. Due to the key role of surfaces and interfaces, e.g., in two-dimensional materials and in nanostructures such as quantum wells or dots, nanosciences naturally find a place of choice in this conference, which is largely interdisciplinary and deals with the most fundamental concepts as well as concrete applications in the industrial world. The scope of the JSI also includes growth and structuring techniques for nanomaterials, as well as instrumental developments in analysis and characterization techniques, from the atomic scale to the mesoscopic scale.
The scientific program for these days is organized in 17 invited conferences, where renowned experts in the field present both the state of the art and the most recent developments in their discipline. The didactic format of these oral presentations makes this conference particularly attractive and educational for the non-specialist public and the student public. Participants in the conference also have the opportunity to present their work during a poster communication session. These days are therefore an opportunity to bring the French-speaking community together around these themes. We hope that the discussions will be fruitful and lead to new collaborations and prospects.
The 37th edition of the JSI will take place on the campus of the University of Paris-Saclay from January 29 to 31, 2025, within the Solid State Physics Laboratory (LPS) and the Institute of Molecular Sciences of Orsay (ISMO).
